Founder - Hon. Professor Robert Batt
Crafted the mission and vision of Cambridge Mind Technologies. Spent more than 20 years providing clinical support for adolescent patients and brings a clear understanding into the aetiology of mental ill-health amongst this group.
Also founded TRC Group, which has a multidisciplinary team of 40 clinicians in 3 private Adolescent Daycare clinics, in London, Edinburgh and Riyadh.
Masters in Entrepreneurship from Darwin College, Cambridge. I have conducted novel research into “The role of Embodied Conversational Agents in reducing an adolescent mental health crisis”.
Member of the Cambridge Neuroscience Networks and the British Neuroscience Association.

Co Founder - Professor Sabine Bahn
Professor Sabine Bahn was the Founder of Psynova Neurotech which was acquired by Myriad Genetics Inc.
She has dedicated 25 years to researching the molecular basis of mental illness, co-authoring more than 200 research papers on disorders including bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder. Her research group has contributed to launching the world’s first commercially available diagnostic aid for schizophrenia in collaboration with a NASDAQ-listed diagnostics company.
She is a Professor of Neuroscience, at the University of Cambridge and Founder of Psyomics.
Sabine has led work on everything from major depression, to incorporating evidence-based mental health research into the development of our digital tools for clinical needs.

CEO - Hema Patel
Hema brings a background in building and scaling big tech companies and startups, including exiting Oxford Semantic Technologies to Samsung, which like Cambridge Mind Technologies, was spun out of a university and grounded in academic science.
Previously Hema worked in both strategy and global revenue roles as an Executive Global Director at Microsoft and Adobe across multiple markets, sectors and stages, including scaling Facebook to $500m across 100 markets during its IPO. She is eager to apply this experience - particularly as the team targets enterprises and social media companies.
More recently, Hema served on several Boards and founded Impeller Labs. She also invests in pioneering companies like what3words. A seasoned innovator who has led adoption for digital, data, cloud and AI globally.

Board - Owen Thompson
As CEO and Co-Founder of Cambridge Future Tech, Owen has created a technology-first venture builder, which works with top-tier UK universities’ spinouts to build companies and drive global impact.
Prior to his role at CFT, Owen was a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force and then subsequently General Manager for Advanced Technologies at BAE Systems. Owen has successfully shaped multiple start-up funding rounds, including taking six portfolio companies through their pre-seed rounds.

Board - Jem Davies
Ex Vice-President, fellow and general manager for several businesses at ARM, including their Machine Learning Group. In addition to setting future technology roadmaps, Jem has led several acquisitions and integrations within Arm. With a degree from the University of Cambridge, Jem holds 4 patents in the fields of CPU and GPU design.
A highly skilled business leader and technologist, with wide experience as Non-Executive Director and Chair across a variety of companies from for-profit, not-for-profit and industry standards bodies, including chair of the Numerical Algorithms Group.

AI Engineer and Author - Aarushi Kansal
An experienced global AI engineering leader, with over a decade of experience across products and companies such as ThoughtWorks, AutoGPT, Deliveroo and Bumble.
Author of ‘Building Generative AI Powered Apps’. Aarushi has a Bachelor of Software engineering from Monash University and is currently completing a Masters in Artificial Intelligence.
She enjoys creating cutting edge agentic systems powered by Generative AI.

Principal Product Manager - Ross Webb
Ross brings over 30 years of digital product development experience, including senior leadership roles at Ada Health, Amazon, Mars and Barnardo’s. Deep expertise in AI-driven healthcare technology and conversational interfaces.
As a father and product leader he is eager to help Cambridge Mind Technologies enhance mental health support for young people. He believes that the company’s mission to provide accessible support is more crucial than ever.
Ross has led a $1 billion revenue app, optimizing performance and user experience, where he launched the product from ideation to $50 million turnover in 9 months.

Senior Software Engineer - Simon Carter
A senior software developer and front end engineer specialising in web and user interface design. With nearly 25 years of consultancy experience across multiple sectors, Simon brings extensive knowledge from Astra Zeneca, OFSTED, Virgin, Vodafone, BP, BBC, Fidelity and Michelin.
His passion lies in creating intuitive, user-centred solutions that not only enhance functionality but also drive engagement and satisfaction.

Software Engineer - Harry Knighton
Having graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, Harry first worked at Improbable Defence.
Harry’s degree project focused on using machine learning in the drug discovery pipeline.

Psychology and Research Manager - Imogen Lester
A University of Cambridge graduate in Psychological and Behavioural Sciences, with a MSc in Psychology of Economic Life from The London School of Economics.
Imogen works closely with the CEO and a team of professional mental health clinicians (including clinical and counselling psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists and mentors) to lead psychology operations, data collection and research/funding projects to inform our product development. She also leads outreach initiatives to customers, practitioners and adolescents, ensuring their perspectives are integrated into our product design.

Lead Psychology Consultant - Sarah Childs
A registered MBACP psychotherapist, completing her DPsych in Counselling Psychology, with a MSc in Psychology and years of experience working across a variety of mental health settings, including the NHS and charities.
Sarah is practised in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, complex trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, identity struggles and stress amongst other areas. Her integrative training means she can draw upon different models, including CBT, person-centred and psychodynamics.

Operations Manager - Emma Braithwaite
Emma started her career in the music and film industry including Sony BMG, Paramount and Warner Music. More recently, Emma pivoted into digital and cyber security.
Now she leads all operational support at Cambridge Mind Technologies, enabling the team to focus on complex engineering and psychology inputs required to build authentic conversational AI. As a parent to two teenagers she is committed to tackling the growing mental health crisis facing our children.

Isa holds a BSc in Neuroscience from University College London and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Translational Neuroscience at Imperial College London. Her academic journey and professional aspirations are centred on leveraging neurotechnology to address the mental health crisis through innovative solutions.
With a background in sales and project management, she has developed skills in communication, teamwork, and strategic planning. Isa contributes to the development of conversational AI tools designed to enable early psychological intervention and support.
